I did everything I knew how to do in order to get these socks to looks somewhat similar but in spite of it all, it looks like I am knitting two different socks at the same time. We knitters understand the issue with non-matching socks but as these are my new knit in public project, I am getting the strangest looks from people. I am sure Daddio doesn't give a hoot that they are so oddly mismatched but the inner knitter in me is hanging her head in shame.
